Caterpillar engines for trucks, marine, electric generation applications, and Oylmpian generators for smaller power applications, are sold and serviced by Johnson Power Systems. The division, which started as Johnson Industrial in 1977, has nearly doubled in size since 1989.

Johnson Power Systems was appointed a Power Systems distributor by Caterpillar in 1990 and offers parts and service for Caterpillar and Olympian engines. Becoming a Caterpillar-authorized Power Systems distributor enables Johnson Power Systems to offer Caterpillar engines and the support of factory-trained technicians.

Johnson Power Systems also has the ability to supply natural gas or diesel engines to meet any power need from generation for water pumping or powering a rock crushing plant to diesel engines for buses and on-highway trucks.

The Power Systems division provides sales, parts, service, and rentals of Caterpillar engines and Caterpillar Vocational On-Highway Trucks to Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The division employs a complete engineering staff as well as fabrication personnel for custom power generation systems designed to meet specific job site requirements.

Dynamometer testing on trucks allows the service peronnel the ability to load test engines for horsepower and proper repair. Generator load bank testing is available for testing power generation equipment to ensure availability in time of emergency.
